Job Description

 

Our website receives almost as many visitors as our many properties. With your advice, guidance and vision, we can take content onto multiple platforms, including mobile. Based at Heelis, the central office for the National Trust, there’ll be three Property Content Managers to help you, who’ll require your leadership, motivation and training. Together you’ll provide solutions for any content and communication problems that emerge.

Candidate Requirements

 

Knowledge:

·        Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline

·        A deep understanding of how the internet works and what makes good content

·        Evidence of training in editing/proof-reading

·        Familiarity with content management systems

·        A good understanding of blogs, user generated content, social networks and online communities

·        Understanding of web services e.g. APIs, mashups, and User Generated Content

·        A good knowledge of internet usability best practice

·        A good knowledge of website accessibility best practice

·        Knowledge of web-related software, e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop

·        A good knowledge and understanding of user experience and design for web

 

Skills:

·        Evidence of team management skills with a geographically dispersed team

·        Training skills

·        Presentation Skills - comfortable presenting to senior decision makers

·        Proof reading and editing content from other sources

·        Writing for the web to suit different audiences

·        Excellent communication and negotiating skills

·        Attention to detail

·        Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own time and that of a team

·        Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure

·        Innovative and able to find creative solutions

 

Experience:

·        3 years experience in a website content role

·        1 years experience of managing a geographically disperse team in a content-focused role on a busy and multifaceted website

·        Evidence of working in partnership with clients and stakeholders to achieve desired corporate communication goals

·        Evidence of experience in writing, editing and proof-reading engaging and creative website copy

·        Evidence of experience in documenting requirements, liaising with multidisciplinary content teams, and user testing on digital media projects

·        Knowledge of managing editorial style and publishing processes in an online environment

·        Experience of using content management systems essential

·        Experience of video and photography essential

·        Experience of working with content on a multitude of platforms is desirable
